It was over 10 years ago. The interviewer was quite rude and clearly not accustomed to speaking with female drivers. He kept asking the same questions about my experience, even though all my driving history is verified according to federal guidelines. I had already worked with the recruiter to ensure all my qualifications were in order. I'm sure the company's attitude towards female drivers has improved since then.

Prime offers a really good CDL school where they cover your room and meals. You do have to pay them back about $3,333, but they take it out of your checks slowly. This is way cheaper than other schools that can cost up to $10,000 and don't guarantee a job. The owner is a no-nonsense guy who's built a great company and makes you feel valued, but he also stresses the importance of safety on the road. I left Prime because they lost a bid for a dedicated route, and now I'm working harder for less pay. It's a tough situation and I regret leaving Prime.

The process was pretty standard. It was just a normal process with all the usual stuff you would expect from an interview like this. They asked me about trucking and trucks and my favorite kind of truck and my favorite color of truck. It's important to be honest about your favorite color because if you lie, you might end up with a truck in a color you don't like, so make sure to tell them your actual favorite color.
