Data Head
I had a phone interview with the HR Manager, standard questions. She messaged me the night before to set up a meeting with the hiring manager for the next day, which was disorganized. The second interview was with the Chief Innovation Officer, a casual chat. Copilot transcription started recording at the beginning without consent, which is illegal in Australia. I didn't say anything then. After the interview, I heard nothing. I followed up but never got a response. Ghosted!
- Casual conversation, no specific questions were asked.
Head of Fraud
Recruiter reached out to see if I was interested. Then, the company did a paper review of my resume. After that, I met with the CTO and Chief People Officer over video conference. It was a pleasant conversation. The questions were relevant to the role and the process, not tricky, and thankfully not too focused on the STAR method. We had good back-and-forth interaction. No complaints or regrets.
- Can you explain your knowledge of eCommerce?
- Describe different types of fraud.
- What are the fundamentals of leadership?
FP&A Analyst
It started with a quick Zoom call with a recruiter, which already felt like a bad sign. The recruiter couldn't even give me basic details about the job, like whether it was a new position or a replacement, or how the finance team is organized. Then I had the interview with the Hiring Manager. I wasn't impressed; she was kind of rude, yawning and acting like she had an attitude when I answered or asked for more info. She also asked why my job was being eliminated, even though I'd already said it was due to COVID and the company's financial issues. The interview structure was all over the place, and I had to really push to get any details because her answers were so short. The technical questions were also really vague and too general. I left feeling confused, uncomfortable, and like my time as a candidate wasn't valued.
- What's the reason for your frequent job changes?
- Can you explain why your previous role was eliminated?
- Could you elaborate on the distinction between forecasting revenues and costs?
Software Engineer
Applied on LinkedIn and got a call from the Head of Talent the next day. Had a quick chat about me and the company, and I was immediately interested. Mentioned that I needed to speed up the process, and he agreed. Scheduled the interviews for Thursday. First interview was a casual chat with the Engineering Manager, discussing the company and its exciting aspects, and a little about me. The manager was friendly and made me feel comfortable. On Friday, I had a technical interview with the Engineering Manager and a principal software engineer. They gave me a coding question (using any programming language) and a system design scenario focused on AWS. They provided hints and made the session enjoyable. Received the offer on Friday afternoon. Overall, a fantastic experience interviewing with the Prezzee team. Best interview ever. The Head of Talent was super kind and proactive.
- Discuss how pair programming utilizes the Stack data structure.
- How can system design improve security and simplify development operations?
