I went through multiple rounds of interviews with Directors for this role. They decided to put the role on pause right before the final panel interview. The whole process took about a month and ultimately led to nothing. There wasn't much structure around the timeline.

The first interview is a 30-minute screening call, either with a recruiter or hiring manager, to check if you're qualified and still interested. They'll typically ask about your background with security frameworks, tools, and vulnerability management, and your general thoughts on risk and compliance. This chat also touches on your communication style, how you solve problems, and your fit with the company's culture and needs. It's basically setting the stage for more technical or scenario-based interviews later on.

I spoke with the recruiter in Chicago. There were 4 interviews total: 3 in-person and 1 phone interview. It all seemed to go really well, and I even met the team. The recruiter said an offer was coming after my last interview. But then, radio silence. I followed up a week later, and she said they were working on it and I should get it in a day or two. Still nothing. I'm not sure what happened, but it feels either disorganized or really unprofessional.
