First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Presence Health.
Registered Nurse
Had a phone interview, then 2 in person interviews. I had to call to follow up twice. The hours and pay were not what I wanted. The place seems understaffed and people don't seem to stay there. They asked standard interview questions and also scenario questions that made no sense. Several people were reading off lists.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
Behavioral Health Clinician
I went to the Melrose Park location for my interview and met with four staff members. It was a bit intimidating at first because I was expecting to meet with only two people, but they made me feel comfortable. We talked about my experience, what I'm looking for in my career, and the difficulties I had at my previous job. I also got to learn a lot about the services offered and the specifics of the position. When I left, someone walked me out, and I felt pretty good about the whole interview and felt positive about finding a job.
- Could you describe the challenges you encountered in your previous role and your reasons for leaving?
- Discussing the current role, what are your thoughts on the responsibilities and workload involved?
Pharmacy Technician
I got a call from the recruiter and we set up an interview date. During the interview, I talked about my experience. I was upfront about my availability and my plan to get certified. I had a bad feeling about the interview, even though I did my best. About an hour later, I got an email saying I was rejected! They didn't even wait until the next day. This means they didn't give me a real chance. Why? They knew my experience level beforehand. Why waste my time? I'm disgusted with this company. I'm a good worker and shouldn't feel pathetic and undesirable. Get your priorities straight, Presence.
- Are you willing to work a rotating schedule?
Gift Shop Associate
The interview was conducted by the shop manager, her supervisor, and one of the existing associates. They asked typical customer service questions, such as how to handle unhappy customers or suspected theft. The role also involves setting up displays, inventory management, and some physical tasks like lifting boxes and cleaning on a ladder. They were selective in choosing candidates, considering the direct interaction with patients and their families, often during difficult times. They also assessed personality fit with the existing team. An empathetic personality, respect for privacy laws, an eye for displays, and creativity are important qualities for this position.
- What is your approach to dealing with an angry customer?
