Sales Development Representative
The process was divided into four rounds of interviews: - First screening video call with the recruiter - Case Study with presentation + interview with the hiring manager and an account manager - Interview with the Head of Sales - Interview with the Head of Copy about Culture and Values - Final discussion with the recruiter
- What tools have you used in the past?
- Describe your lead generation process.
- Tell me about a time a customer was upset with your product and service, what happened, how did you handle it and what was the result?
Sales Development Representative
The interview process had 5 steps. The first two were discovery calls where they asked about my motivation and tested my language skills, then my sales experience and knowledge of Preply Enterprise. After that was a case study. The fourth call was again about my motivation and understanding of Preply's culture. Finally, the 5th call was about the hiring decision and feedback. I thought the meetings were informative, but I'd suggest shortening the process because it can take up a lot of time and feel overwhelming.
- Have you had previous sales experience? What drives you?
- How do you handle setbacks?
- What company values do you prioritize?
Sales Development Representative
I applied for the Sales Development Representative position. The process moved quickly until I was invited to a one-way video interview. At that point, I decided not to continue. Personally, I think this format is a very cold way to get to know and evaluate a candidate. Since there is no direct exchange or real-time conversation, all the humanity and the essence of what a job interview should be is lost. Although the questions were not difficult, this type of selection causes me anxiety and great discomfort, as it seems like you are talking to a wall instead of a person. I believe that for a sales position, where communication and human connection are fundamental, this method is contradictory and demotivating for the candidate.
- Tell us about yourself.
- Why are you the right person for Preply?
