Had a good initial chat with the recruiter; it was open, friendly, and I got good info. But then the feedback was just 'other folks had more experience in the area we're looking at' which is pretty vague. Didn't get to talk to any hiring managers to see if it would have been a good fit. It's weird because the job is still open months later.
- Can you walk me through your experience?
- What kind of opportunities are you seeking in your next position?

The whole thing was pretty quick and went well. I really liked how the recruiter, Ash, kept in touch, giving me updates and feedback. They also wished me luck before each interview and wanted to hear my thoughts after each stage.
- Average questions for the role, including a case study.
- They really value culture fit as much as hard skills.
- They are keen on hiring people who share the company values on a deep level.

I had an initial call with the recruiter, who I don't think read my profile at all, despite contacting me on Linkedin. I work in startups and have experience with language learning companies, so I thought it would be a good fit. However, about 10 minutes in, the recruiter decided I wasn't a fit and ended the interview. When I asked why, they just said I wasn't suited for the role. They said they'd let me know if other positions came up. It was so abrupt, I think they either didn't read my profile or had some bias. It felt like a waste of my time and I got a vibe of a toxic culture, so I'd avoid this place.
- Can you walk me through your design background?
- What's prompting your job search right now?
