The interview was comfortable and friendly. It was a basic interview where they asked what I knew about the company and what about the advert caught my eye. We also talked about my availability, some competency-based questions, and my comfort level with technology. The interviewer was warm and personable.

I was selected for a one-hour trial shift at Premier Inn in Bromley. A manager gave me a tour and showed me my duties, which included welcoming guests to the food hall and checking them in, showing them breakfast options and finding tables (while walking backwards and facing the guests), cleaning and setting tables, and serving drinks. The environment was nice and clean with friendly people, but there were red flags: the manager wouldn't disclose the pay rate until I started, they wanted a second unpaid one-hour trial shift despite being impressed, and I'd have to clean toilets occasionally (with PPE provided). It seemed more like a waiter/cleaner role than receptionist. I didn't attend the second trial as I found another job.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The interview wasn't a traditional one-on-one, but rather a trial to assess my customer service abilities.

I sent my CV via email to the address in the job ad. Got a call the next day to come in for an interview at Premiere Inn. I got there early and we started right on time. The interview was about 30 minutes long. It was a standard interview, mostly about my past experience and how I handle things, covering my strengths and weaknesses. It seemed to go well until they started suggesting other jobs, which felt like a waste of my time. The interview was fine, went well, I did okay, but then they suggested I look at other openings, which didn't make sense. The interviewer mentioned I shouldn't have trouble finding a job. But I left jobless, just like I arrived.
