First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Premier Inn.
Receptionist
The interview was comfortable and friendly. It was a basic interview where they asked what I knew about the company and what about the advert caught my eye. We also talked about my availability, some competency-based questions, and my comfort level with technology. The interviewer was warm and personable.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences and how you'd manage issues or complaints from customers or staff?
- What about your previous roles and how would you handle different problems/complaints both with customers and other staff?
Data Scientist
The process was smooth. It included an online assessment and interview, followed by an in-person assessment centre. The assessment centre had a group activity, a presentation, and an interview. The assessors made me feel welcomed, and overall it was a positive experience.
- What made you want to apply to Premier Inn?
Housekeeping
The interview was friendly and positive. The hiring manager told me about the responsibilities and what a normal day looks like in the housekeeping team. The questions were fair and easy, mostly about housekeeping to see if I could learn quickly without prior experience. They offered me a trial shift, but I didn't go because I got another job offer.

Front of House Team Member
I went for an interview yesterday and they sent me to the wrong team first. The interviewer asked questions not related to the job, but I answered them. At the end, she asked if I had questions. I asked if it was a front of house role, and she said no, it was housekeeping. Then they moved me to another desk for the correct interview. I had to explain everything again, which was tiring, but the interview went well. Today I got rejected. They also kept changing interview locations, which made me think they didn't know what they were doing. The first interviewer accepted my share code for my right to work, but the second rejected it, saying they only accept passports. I'm wondering if that was discrimination.
