Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Premier Group Recruitment.
Recruitment Consultant
I applied for a graduate recruitment consultant role and heard back quickly. I had a phone call, then a Teams call, and finally a face-to-face interview, all within a few weeks. They gave me really positive feedback, saying I was amazing and would fit in well. After the last interview, they told me hiring was on hold until January due to budget cuts. I stayed in touch, and mentioned I had other offers, hoping to prompt a decision. Now, they've advertised the job I was basically promised, and I haven't heard anything. No explanation, no rejection, nothing. It's weird a recruitment company can't recruit, why interview if there's no budget, and why promise a job then ignore someone and re-advertise? This whole experience was disappointing and has made me hesitant to apply for other jobs. It feels like I dodged a bullet, as poor communication is a bad sign for a recruitment company. They are a shambles, wasted my time and effort, and offered no apology, just empty words. For a company that prides itself on effective communication, they failed miserably. Avoid them.

Recruitment Consultant
I had two interviews with the internal recruiter and then managers. They asked me a lot of questions about myself but also told me a great deal about the role, expectations and about Premier which was really insightful. It didn't feel like a standard interview because I definitely learnt a lot about the role too, rather than just being asked lots of questions about me. I then went onto the sales floor and made a few calls to candidates. It was nerve-wracking but good to see the atmosphere at Premier too. Once I accepted I was invited back in for drinks before I started which was amazing as I got to meet more people from the team rather than just management.

Recruitment Consultant
Had a pretty good phone chat with one of the recruiters. I passed the phone interview stage and was waiting to hear back about adjusted working hours. The recruiter said she'd talk to management about it and get back to me. Still waiting for any reply, and I've tried following up a few times with no luck. They really left me in the dark. I guess I regret mentioning the possible adjustments that I was willing to negotiate. They sent me a bunch of documents about the role and promises, but nothing has happened yet. Oh well. I was skeptical from the start, which you should be with any company that oversells itself and promises you the moon.
