Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Precisely.
Software Engineer
I cleared the online test. Then there were virtual interview rounds, but I couldn't proceed further. The recruiters were highly unprofessional. After the online test, they scheduled the first round. I told them I needed to reschedule because of an emergency. I followed up with emails and calls, but they never replied to my emails or picked up my calls. Then they sent a generic rejection email. I really doubt the company culture if they don't even care about candidates during the initial stages.
- Tell me about skills used in your previous company.
Associate Software Engineer
I think there were about four rounds in total. I went through two technical rounds, and the third round was likely with a manager, followed by a fourth round with HR. I passed the first technical round, and the second one was less challenging than the first. I felt I answered most of the questions correctly, but they ended up choosing another candidate. It's possible they were looking for someone with more experience, even though my knowledge and skills were adequate.
- Can you explain the new features introduced in Java 8, along with other related Java concepts?
Senior Software Engineer
It was a 4 round process. The first round was a 15min phone screening where they asked about improving code quality and my approach to challenges. The second round was a 1-hour technical interview covering resume topics and scalability, with many RDBMS questions. The third round was a technical interview with two architects, focusing on explaining my current project end-to-end and answering follow-up questions. The final round was a techno-managerial interview with the hiring manager, covering debugging, agile, daily tasks, and my experience with DevOps pipelines. I really liked their process; it felt more like a discussion than an interview, with smiles and a clear explanation of the product they were hiring for (about 10 min). I was impressed.
- Can you discuss Java features relevant to your experience?
- What has been your experience with the Spring framework?
- Describe your approach to application deployment.
