First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pratt & Whitney.
Manager
I applied online and was referred by someone within the company. Then I got an email with a Zoom interview invite from three people on the team. I didn't get to choose the time, it was just that or nothing, so I had to move things around on my schedule. When I logged into the meeting, one of the people I was supposed to meet said, 'Oops, my intern accidentally sent you the interview invite.' I really wish someone had told me earlier instead of letting me get my hopes up for a job I could really see myself in.
- This situation occurred due to poor communication.
Senior Manager
The whole process took over three months, involving several in-person interviews at the East Hartford location. I got to the final interview round, but it was cancelled the day before via an automated message. Then, the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner ghosted me. I received no further communication and my follow-ups went unanswered. The process was pretty clear, although I dealt with many different recruiters. Getting ghosted at the final stage by Pratt & Whitney is really unprofessional and surprising.
- Can you tell me about Pratt & Whitney as a company?
Manager
It was pretty straightforward. I first met them at a career fair and then got invited to an onsite interview in Hartford, CT for their 'Super Day'. There, I interviewed for two different positions with five different people, and each interview lasted 45 minutes. Everyone was really nice and welcoming, so it was a great experience overall. They all asked at least 1-2 behavioral questions.
- How would you handle a situation where there is ambiguity?
