Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pratt & Whitney.
Intern
The interview started with a discussion about the design team. I then asked two questions regarding the team and the experiences of past interns on it. Following that, I was asked two questions about my leadership role in the AIAA club and my motivations for pursuing mechanical engineering.
- Regarding your leadership experience in the AIAA club, could you elaborate?
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in mechanical engineering?
Intern
The interview process was pretty straightforward and quite easy. It mainly consisted of basic behavioral questions, like why I decided to join Pratt & Whitney and what I consider my strengths to be. The HR representative was very friendly, making the conversation feel more like a casual chat than a formal interview. I was interviewed by both an HR representative and a technical supervisor, and they were both really nice and offered a lot of positive feedback.
- Could you explain your reasons for choosing Pratt & Whitney?
- What are your perceived strengths?
Intern
Got an email to schedule a phone interview and it all moved super fast. The call itself was pretty brief and didn't dive deep into my skills, more focused on why I wanted the job. They said I'd hear back in about a week, but despite sending several follow-up emails, I never got a response about the role.
- What unique contributions can you make to this role?
