Your first call will be with the hiring manager, who also seems to be handling the recruiting for the team. If you pass that, they'll email you to set up a Teams meeting with the Team Lead of the department you're looking to join. After that, you're hoping to get an offer! They're really good about keeping in touch and are super friendly.

I was referred for the UX Designer role at PracticeTek and went through a 3-stage interview process. Everyone was super nice, and the team seemed awesome. I got good feedback at every step, which was really motivating. After the last interview, which I thought went great, I followed up a bunch but heard nothing back. I did the whole thing and then got ghosted. Even if it was a no, I just wish I'd gotten some kind of closure.

Instead of a usual phone screen, I got an email with a bunch of questions, which I answered via email. Then, the next step was a phone screen where they asked me the exact same questions again. They mentioned that even though it's a remote role, they'd really prefer someone who lives in their San Diego office, which wasn't stated in the job description, so it felt a bit misleading. I was also told they couldn't offer anywhere near the top pay rate mentioned in the job description, and their offer was 40% below the GlassDoor median for a senior software engineer and a 45% pay cut from my last job. I did some digging into the company and found out they're into 'fringe healthcare' like chiropracty and optometry. Also, they seem to use multiple business names, which is a big red flag for shady accounting practices. I'd steer clear of them.

The hiring manager reached out unexpectedly for a 30-minute chat, and we scheduled a follow-up. The next week, the hiring manager was late and repeated the same basic questions, showing they didn't remember our previous conversation. The interview seemed to go well, and they invited me for an in-person interview the next day, with less than 24 hours' notice. I couldn't make it due to prior commitments and suggested a later date. I felt their rushed scheduling was a bit of a red flag, but given the tough job market, I wanted to see the process through. I followed up multiple times but was ghosted, which solidified my view of the company's unprofessionalism and time-wasting approach.
