Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PPD.
Contract Specialist
After submitting my application online, I had a brief phone call a few days later, about 15-20 minutes, where we discussed the job, the company, and my background. Then, I went in for an in-person meeting with three managers and an HR person. It went for about an hour and a half, and they were all really nice, making me feel at ease. It felt more like a casual conversation than a formal interview. I got the job offer the very next day.
- Can you share an instance where you had to make a significant decision and explain your process for reaching that decision?
- What motivates your interest in working for our company?
Contract Manager
I was flown down to Wilmington, North Carolina to interview with three people. I was surprised because I did not have a screening interview and they flew me down based upon my resume. The interview was typical STAR and I felt that it went well. However it took PPD one and half months to tell me that I did not get the job only after I followed up with them twice.
- Tell me about a time you were in a negotiation stalemate and how you handled it.
Contract Specialist
It was a panel interview. Some of the interviews were nice and respectful, but others were robotic and just stuck to their script, even after knowing you for over a year.
- Can you share an instance of a challenging stakeholder interaction and how you managed it to achieve a specific outcome?
- Could you provide an example of a complex contract negotiation, detailing your approach and the final results?
- Share a situation where you spotted a contract-related risk and the actions you took to lessen it.
