Inside Sales Representative
It was pretty straightforward. The recruiter was awesome and walked me through the whole thing, giving good tips and seeming genuinely interested. Then I had an interview with one of the VPs where I learned more about the company, they asked some basic questions, and explained the sales process. The second interview was with another VP, JC. We talked more about the role, I got a tour, and did some in-person shadowing. JC seems like the main person in charge!
- Are you able to handle constant rejection and maintain focus?
- Can you stick to a script?
Sales Representative
I had two virtual interviews and then an in-person interview. Everyone was really nice and helpful. The recruiters and interviewers were professional and excited to talk about the job and the company's vibe. They explained what was expected and how I could grow. Things moved pretty fast, and I felt ready for each step. The in-person interview was pretty cool and gave me a real feel for the workplace and how the team works together. The company culture seemed lively and focused on teamwork, with a big deal on growing personally, like learning on the go from door to door, no matter the weather. It was a good experience overall. It might not be for everyone, but if you like a fast-paced sales scene and are driven by earning based on how well you do, this could be a great shot.
- Can you tell me about a time you dealt with a tough situation?
Sales Representative
I sent in my application and then got a link to book a call. About ten minutes after our scheduled time, the recruiter called. We talked through the usual stuff, and he made sure I was good with commuting to Waltham every day, working in the office 5 days a week for 9.5 hours daily. Also, the job needs a 4-hour shift every other Saturday, and there's no extra pay for it, just the base salary. When I asked about the salary, it's $30,000 a year base. That's like 47-51 hours a week, no overtime, 'cause it's commission-based. This salary is less than a living wage here and makes me worry about my work-life balance. The recruiter acted like this setup is normal and my worries are weird, even though federal rules say overtime should be paid for salaries under $45k. I think the salary is too low for the hours and cost of living.
- Would you be comfortable with a schedule of working 5 days a week, from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and also working a 4-hour shift every other Saturday?
