Applied online and had to follow up multiple times. Ended up going into the store and was given another paper application. Got a call back two days later for an interview with the regional manager. It was a relaxed interview with questions about my work experience.

The interview process was straightforward. I met with two managers back-to-back in a furniture area. They immediately asked about my past work experience and why I'd be a good fit. I initially thought I was interviewing for a visual designer role but was hired as a sales associate. I later found out this is standard, as everyone starts in sales to learn the registers and walkie-talkie use before potentially moving into design. The timing for this transition varies. Be aware that customers might be nearby during the interview if it's held on the sales floor. I received a job offer after about a week and was called in for training.

Behavioral Case

I met with a really nice manager in a quiet part of the shop for around an hour. It was a pretty in-depth chat. They asked me a bunch of 'what if' questions about how I've dealt with tough spots before and what I took away from them. Also got asked about retail scenarios, like how I'd talk to someone who said they were just browsing. It was a good vibe, and the store looked great, so I felt pretty good about it, though some online reviews I saw later were a bit concerning, especially about the pay (which wasn't discussed) and working hours potentially conflicting with my application.
