The interview process started with a phone interview that covered standard resume and background questions, plus some fit questions. Then there was a case study where I had to analyze about 6000 data entries in Excel and present 90-day solutions for customer retention, fleet retention, growth, marketing, and new initiatives. This report could be submitted in various formats, including a PowerPoint. After that, I had 4 one-on-one interviews: 2 in person, 1 via video call, and 1 one-way video call with HR. These were with team members in Southern California. The interviews included fit and situational/strategy questions, and they also commented on my report insights. The process became difficult after these interviews due to HR issues, including sending incorrect links for a video call. HR also gave a two-week deadline to hear back, then extended it another two weeks, blaming the team. I eventually accepted another offer and didn't hear back for 5-6 weeks after the 1:1 interviews.

Behavioral Technical

It was a bit of an unusual way to get into this role, but pretty interesting. I was contacted by at least two people from the company. Then, for my second phone call, I ended up talking to the CEO. Things seemed to be going really well up to this point. They asked me to come to their office, which is near the ballpark. The only thing was, I had no idea I was going to be there for almost four hours talking to basically everyone. I was ready for anything, so that part was fine. However, it was super hard to explain to my boss at the time – just a heads-up would have been nice. After the interview, the CEO was like, 'Everyone seemed to really like you,' after practicing his sales pitch on me. They said they'd make a decision within a week. I left feeling pretty good about my chances. But, things went south after the interview. I sent a thank-you email, and then heard nothing. A week later, I followed up again, asking if they needed my references, and still nothing. A week after that, I emailed one more time, but no response. I even called and got voicemail. Several weeks went by, and I finally mentioned that if they had hired someone, they should at least take the job posting down. That's when I knew they were reading my emails because they took it down right after. I felt like I was really professional, adaptable, and handled it all with a lot of grace. But the people at Postmates showed really bad business manners. They were clearly disorganized. A simple email a week after the interview saying they found someone more suitable would have been enough. But complete silence from everyone I met there felt insulting. I mean, I spent a whole morning interviewing with them.

Behavioral Case Presentation

The interview process was well organized and follow up was prompt. I interviewed with several people from the team over the course of 3 weeks including two of the co-founders. I was kept in the loop at each step in the process and all my questions were answered in detail. The interviews were pleasant, informative and challenging.
