I applied for the full-time Senior Designer role at Postclick in late March or early April. It turned out the position had shifted to contracting, but I was fine with that. I ended up having two interviews. The first was with a recruiter, and the second was with Hunter Sunrise, who would become my manager. Both interviews were professional and enjoyable, with good conversation that made me feel at ease and excited about the possibility of joining Postclick. I was initially scheduled for two more interviews, but they offered me the job after just those first two. About three months later, they then offered me a full-time position.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

My interview process at Postclick was great, taking about 3-3.5 weeks from start to offer. It involved a 30-minute call with the hiring manager, followed by a 30-minute video chat with my potential boss. Then, there was a 45-minute video meeting with a Senior Designer and Brand Manager together. After that, I had a 30-minute call with the Project Manager. Finally, I was asked to send over extra work samples, like more landing page designs, banner ads, and examples of my use of color, typography, and illustration that weren't on my online portfolio. The conversations were relaxed and felt natural. The interviewers were upfront about what they were looking for and seemed aware of ways to improve and grow the department.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The hiring process had a few stages. First, there was an initial recruiter call with Katie, which was about 30 minutes. Katie was really nice and kept me updated. She gave me the basic info about the job, the team, and Postclick. She said she thought I'd be a good fit and would move me forward. Then, I had a 45-minute video call with a team lead I'd be working with. We talked more about the role and what they were looking for, and if my skills matched the team's needs. After that, I had an intensive 45-minute video call with the director. They asked a lot about my past experience, what I'd contribute, and my ideas for the role. Finally, I had a group meeting that lasted almost 2 hours. I met more team members, they asked me questions, we talked about their jobs, and I learned more about how this role fits with other teams. The whole thing took about 3-4 weeks and I got an offer from Katie a few days after the last interview.

Applied online and HR contacted me within a week with questions. I had two days to answer them. After submitting, it took another week for HR to call me back to set up a phone interview. About 10 days after that, I got a rejection email that wasn't very specific. The whole thing took about a month. The interviewer was really cold and impersonal. I get that they can't give feedback to everyone, but it's just basic professional decency to at least be polite about the effort people put in. It's a two-way street, you know? Just like they're looking for a fit, so am I.
