I reached out to some people I knew at the company and we scheduled some interviews. I met with a VP and two team members for the first and second rounds. The second round was with a manager, but not the hiring manager. I was told I didn't have enough experience with complex environments, which I thought was unfair given my decade+ of customer success experience, especially since she had only been there a few years.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

After I applied and pinged the recruiter, things moved quickly. The recruiter was responsive, usually getting back within 24 hours to set up interviews and keep me updated. First was the recruiter screen, where we went over the job needs and how my background fit. Then, I had a great first interview with the Hiring Manager. We talked about the role's objectives, my project experience, and his vision for the team, which included boosting self-service options, people leadership, expanding to a 24/5 setup, and enhancing knowledge bases and SOPs. He seemed really pleased with my experience, saying I ticked all his boxes. Next, I met with a Sr. Manager who discussed my management style and my experience dealing with senior leadership. This went well, and he thought I'd be a good addition to the team. Lastly, a Client Success Manager interviewed me. She was a bit less energetic but asked standard questions about leadership and working across departments. After these 6 rounds, I was left waiting for 3 weeks despite multiple follow-ups, only to get a rejection with no explanation.

Behavioral Technical Other

It was a pretty standard interview process. Started with a recruiter screen, then a hiring manager interview, followed by peer interviews. I decided to drop out after the peer round because nobody could clearly explain what their product did. Some of the interviewees also mentioned that the role was harder than they expected and that they felt underqualified. One of the interviews felt hostile, and I'm not sure if it was personal or just their interviewing style. After three rounds, I felt it wasn't a good fit.

I went through 4 rounds of interviews. The first was a 30 minute initial screen with a corporate recruiter. The 2nd interview was 1 hour scheduled with the hiring manager. The 3rd interview was a 1 hour panel interview with prospective teammates and the 4th and final was 30 minutes with a C-suite executive. The process was very streamlined and was completed within 2 weeks, questions were a mix between knowledge base and cultural fit. Everyone I met throughout the process was professional and pleasure to speak with.
