Consulting Intern

Strategy Consultant
The interview process had three rounds: HR, managers, and a partner. The first interview was with HR for about half an hour by phone. They asked standard questions about motivation and my CV, and it was important to stress why I fit Porsche. The second interview was with two seniors one or two levels above the position I applied for. This lasted 1.5 hours and was mostly about motivation and fit, with opportunities to ask questions. A case study was integrated, involving market sizing and profitability. I had about 20 minutes to prepare and was asked to put together a rough PPT slide, followed by a discussion about my findings and process. The third interview only happened if the previous one was cleared positively. This was with a partner and HR, led by the partner, and lasted 1.5 hours. It also included a case study where I had to present a slide, this time about process design. The interviews were very open, agreeable, and professional. The people I spoke to were great, and the company really emphasized answering all questions and making a personal connection. I didn't sign, but I would reconsider them as an employer in the future.
- Can you analyze whether a local ride-hailing startup is profitable?
Management Consultant
The interview process was very disorganized. It took months to even get the first interview. I applied online, and it took two weeks for the first call, which was delayed three times. The HR call finally happened a month after applying. After that call, it took five weeks to hear back about moving to the next round and to be asked about my availability for an in-office interview, which I provided immediately. Five weeks passed with no word, so I reached out. They replied that they hadn't contacted me because they were still waiting for interviewer availability. After another four weeks of silence, I contacted them again, which finally led to a call two weeks later informing me that the position had been filled. I applied in October 2016 and finally got a response in March 2017. They really should apply their own lean and efficient processes internally.
