First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Population Services International.
Program Manager
I spoke with HR on the phone. They wanted to know why I was interested in the job and how I found out about the company. We talked about my experience, the pay, and what would happen next. Then, I had to do a writing test and a budget test. After that, I had an interview with a program manager over Skype, followed by an in-person interview with another program manager. They asked about my availability for a final interview. When I left the last interview, HR told me I did really well and they'd be in touch soon. I never heard back, and when I followed up, I got no response. I thought that was really unprofessional.
- Can you explain what social marketing is?
- Describe a situation where you made an error at work.
Associate Program Manager
I applied to fill in temporarily for an associate program manager, and the process was pretty straightforward and painless. First, I had a brief phone call with the HR for the specific department, and I qualified for the in-person interview. The people interviewing me were very pleasant and friendly, and quite attentive to what I had to say. I was excited to be able to interview for PSI and would definitely seek to re-apply with them in the future.
- What fruit would you be, and why?
Program Manager
Got invited for a final round where I might meet with senior leadership. This round is mainly about checking culture fit, how I tackle problems, and if my vision aligns with theirs. I also had to do a short assignment and talk about my technical skills.
- Can you share about your past experiences and the challenges you faced?
- Could you complete a brief assignment?
- Let's discuss your technical skills.
