Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pontoon Solutions.
Senior Recruiter
The interview process was pretty straightforward, and at first, it seemed promising. It involved the typical questions in a relaxed setting. I had this interview back in June 21 and never heard anything about the outcome until I got an email in December 21 saying I was unsuccessful. Honestly, waiting six months to share the result without any feedback feels a bit excessive.
- How would you approach recruiting for a position that's hard to fill, and what specific strategies would you use?
Recruiter
Had a professional phone interview to introduce the position and answer my questions about details and compensation. Then met the Director for a face-to-face interview. It was professional, realistic about the position, and really explored my background while also being open to hers. After starting, there are required online courses for compliance and weekly webex classes for continued education and growth. I've been with the client for nearly a year and while there are growing pains, the Pontoon Management Team has always been supportive, providing quick answers (within 24 hours). Our opinions and ideas are respected. The account is new, but we've made great improvements as a team, thanks to the management. Colleagues agree; no one complains about management. I'm happy and look forward to growing with Pontoon.
- What are your career aspirations?
Recruiter
I was contacted via LinkedIn for this role. I had a quick phone chat with someone from TA. Then, another person called me a few days later for another phone interview for the exact same job. It seemed like the recruiters weren't talking to each other. They said I'd hear back in 4 days with positive feedback, but I didn't get any calls or replies to my emails. After about two weeks, I got an automated rejection email.
- Can you tell me about your recruitment experience?
