First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pomeroy Technologies.
Help Desk Analyst
I had an in-person interview with 2 interviewers, who were both Help Desk supervisors. It was a Q&A session where they assessed my knowledge of technical ability and customer service skills. They asked about everything from handling a password reset to taking care of remotely rebooting a server. These two supervisors ended up being my first level management team.
- Can you provide basic troubleshooting advice?
- Can you provide advanced troubleshooting advice?
Service Desk Analyst
I had an initial phone interview for screening. After I passed that, I had an in-person interview that was an hour and a half long. It felt both intense and relaxed. Intense because they asked tons of technical and soft skills questions, relaxed because the interviewers were nice and told me not to worry about knowing every answer, just to do my best.
- When faced with a client issue you don't know how to fix, what's your first step: ask a coworker, search online, check the knowledge base, or escalate the problem?
Help Desk Analyst
The recruiter messaged me about the application on Teleo multiple times before I finally completed it. The interview covered topics like Outlook .pst files and gadgets that don't run Android. It took several weeks to get an offer, and the training was quite lacking.
- How would you restore a PST file in Outlook?
- Can you mention a gadget you like that does not run Android?
