Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Policygenius.
Customer Success Associate
I applied online and got a quick response for a phone interview. A week later, I had a second phone interview that went well. They told me my skills and experience were a good fit and that I'd hear back about an on-campus interview. A week after that, I got a rejection letter. I understand, but it feels like this company really leads people on. It was a waste of time going through this process after being repeatedly told I was a good fit and my experience was impressive. Just be upfront and direct with your process and stop misleading people. You're burning through good applications.

Customer Success Associate
I was reached out to for an initial phone screen by the recruiter, and we set it up for the same week. The hiring manager asked basic questions about my current job, why I wanted to leave, and what I was looking for. The hiring manager seemed impressed with my skills and wanted to move forward, but I never heard back. I followed up with both the manager and recruiter about two weeks later, and they saw my messages but didn't reply. It's understandable if they weren't interested, but it's disappointing not to get a response. He also mentioned that you have to stay in a role for a year to get promoted, even if you do really well, which is unusual for a startup.
- Can you tell me about your current job duties?
- What's prompting your job search?
- What appeals to you about our company?
Customer Success Associate
The interview process involved three rounds where I met several team members and people from different departments. Everyone was very friendly, and the environment felt welcoming, suggesting a good office culture. All the interviews were done over Zoom and were quite thorough. Overall, it was a great experience!
- In a single word, how would a previous manager or employer characterize you?
