Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PointClickCare.
QA Analyst
The recruiters were really nice and communicative from the start, telling me why this company is a fantastic place to work. They focused on selling the company rather than the nitty-gritty job requirements at this point. The process involved two calls with HR/Recruiter to check if my skills and interests aligned with the role. Following that, there were two back-to-back in-person interviews. The first in-person was casual and conversational, covering skills, knowledge, and some standard HR questions. The second stage was more technically focused, including some whiteboarding on Java and Selenium automation. Everyone was friendly and seemed genuinely happy working there.
- Can you explain how to locate an element using Selenium Webdriver via CSS, XPath, or ID?
- Tell me about your experience with test cases.
- Could you elaborate on test plans?
Quality Assurance Analyst
I applied for a QA role at PointClickCare, and thought it would be great given their reputation. Things started well with a quick 15-minute chat with HR. Then, a week later, I had a 1-hour meeting with the hiring manager where we talked about my resume, my QA background, and I had to tackle a LeetCode problem. I passed that, and a final 3-hour interview was set for the following week. But on the day, they cancelled it last minute saying the job was on hold. It was a bummer after putting in so much time. The first parts were professional, but cancelling the last interview with no warning wasn't cool. They could really improve how they handle things with candidates.
- Tell me about your resume.
- Tell me about your QA experience.
- Can you solve this LeetCode programming challenge?
Software QA Analyst
I had a phone chat with HR and then an in-person interview at the Waterloo office. Both were really interesting, the people were friendly, and they kept things focused. They were pretty open about what they were looking for and how my skills and interests might fit in.
- Can you explain Java constructors?
- Tell me about string methods in Java.
- What are SQL aggregate functions?
