Database Analyst
It started with a phone chat with HR, then a 1-hour SQL test. After that, I went in person to meet the Team Lead and Senior Manager. I got the offer, accepted it, and then there was a background screening and referral check before I joined.
- Tell me about a time you explained something complex to someone so they could understand it.
- What's the hardest data analysis problem you've ever solved?
- How did you fix the bad data and what steps did you take to solve the problem?
Database Analyst
First there was a phone interview with HR that was behavioral. Then, a technical assessment test that covered SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and VB.net. Finally, an in-person interview that was a mix of technical and personal questions, where I had to talk about my past work and projects. The in-person interview was relatively easy, but the technical assessment test could be tricky if you don't have solid SQL experience.
- Tell me more about your past roles and the kinds of projects you've worked on.
- Could you describe the technologies you've utilized in your previous positions?
- What's your background with SQL?
Database Analyst
The hiring process was pretty straightforward. First, I had a phone chat with HR. If they liked that, I moved on to a technical test focusing on SQL questions. After that, I was invited for a final interview the next day. There, they asked me about my background and previous work, plus some tough questions. By that weekend, I got a call from HR with an offer.
- Can you describe your proficiency with T-SQL?
- Could you discuss your background and previous work experience?
- Are you prepared to tackle some challenging questions?
