The interview process was pretty standard. It began with an initial phone screen. Then, there were 3 separate hour-long Teams calls with managers and directors. Scheduling was a bit tricky on Point B's end, with a few calls needing to be rescheduled, but they were upfront about it, which helped given the extended timeline. The questions were mostly behavioral and experience-based. They also included a take-home assignment involving a business case, which I had to present in a slide format during one of the interviews. Compared to other consulting interviews I've done, this one was easier. Everyone I met was friendly and professional. Point B seemed keen on hiring me and said they'd reach out when a suitable project came up, as they were 'hiring to demand'. This felt a little odd, but they were transparent, so I was willing to wait a few weeks since I wasn't in a rush. However, after looking into it on other sites, I started noticing red flags. I discovered Point B is more of a staff augmentation agency than a true management consulting firm, which was surprising because the recruiter, interviewers, and company website all gave the impression it was a management consulting company. After 3 weeks, they contacted me about a project that fit my skills. They then adapted my resume and sent it to the client, who seemed interested. I was informed that I'd need to interview directly with the client before being placed on the project. This confirmed my suspicion that Point B is essentially a staff augmentation agency posing as a management consulting firm. It was at this point that Point B finally extended an initial offer, which was surprisingly low, even though I had clearly stated my salary expectations earlier. Their final offer was quite poor, and the work wasn't what I was led to believe. Honestly, it felt like a complete waste of my time.

The interview process felt pretty chill and not as rigid as some other consulting interviews I've gone through. I had a good chat with the recruiter. The case interview wasn't too tough either! It's been over two years so some details are fuzzy, but generally, it was quite straightforward. The company culture seems to really value friendly and personable people.

Met some people informally, then had a recruiter call to see if I wanted to proceed with formal interviews. We discussed the process and timeline since I had another offer. They fit me in for three interviews within a week. First was a phone call with behavioral questions, talk about company culture, and one case study, lasting about an hour and felt conversational. A few days later, went to the Seattle office for an in-person interview where I presented a past deliverable and did a multi-part case study; this also focused on culture and values and felt laid back. A couple days after that, met with a director for a "fit" interview, which was purely behavioral, discussing what it's like to work there and if I'd enjoy it. Got an offer call from a recruiter two days later. The recruiters seemed invested and weren't harsh.
