Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pluralsight.
Account Executive
I've talked to 5 people from the company on LinkedIn, email, and phone. I had one interview and then got ghosted for a month and my follow-up was ignored. Then they asked me to schedule a 90-minute interview. Before that, 4 different people contacted me about scheduling the second 90-minute interview as part of a 5-interview process, all while I was working full-time. It was chaotic and disorganized, making me concerned about the company and its culture. So, I opted out of the interview process.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experiences?
Account Executive
The interview process was awesome. It was simple and straight to the point. From initial reach-out from recruiter, to recruiter phone screen, to both interviews, to receiving and accepting the offer took 14 days. Communication was clean. The interviews were enjoyable. They all came into the interview having internalized my resume/LinkedIn, meaning they didn't ask "tell me about __ on your resume". We joked, they asked detailed questions and really showed they were as interested in me as I was interested in them/Pluralsight. This is one of the 3 key factors that sold me on Pluralsight.
- What ICPs do you have experience selling into?
- What do you expect to be top priorities when speaking to CROs, CTOs & CIOs?
Account Executive
This was by far the best interview process I've ever taken part in. A recruitment process is both for the recruiting organisation to figure out if a candidate fits into the organisation, but it is also for the candidate to figure out if this is an organisation worthy of your time. Pluralsight put this into practice from the first conversation until the final offer. Each interview step opened with some variation of the question "Are you still interested in joining Pluralsight in this position?". Half of the time in every interview step was spent explaining the culture, work environment and tasks required for the position in question, allowing the candidate ample time to ask questions and to deep dive into figuring out if Pluralsight is the right next step. Each interview step ended with some version of the question "Knowing what you now know, are you still interested in proceeding in the process?" In short, I felt incredibly seen and listened to during the entire process, and I was able to ultimately make a very well informed decision.
- Can you share an instance where you were in danger of not achieving your objectives, and describe your actions?
- Describe a situation where you were close to failing to meet your goals and what steps you took to address it.
- Give an example of a time you faced a risk of not meeting your targets and what you did about it.
