Plural Strategy Analyst Interview Questions
& Process

I've only had the first round so far. It was a medium-level market sizing question. I really enjoyed the interview and think it was a great chance to know more about the firm.

So after I did the online assessment, I got a phone interview. It was with someone from 'Cornell Partnership', not directly from Plural, which was kinda disappointing. They weren't really interested in me or why I wanted to join Plural, just wanted to check my knowledge about Plural. Like, at the end, they asked me to mention articles I'd read related to Plural. I'd already talked about industry trends, so I dove into explaining why I thought they were relevant, citing news and stuff. But then they said I didn't have enough topics to talk about? My main goal was to make them understand why I brought up those trends and how they tied into Plural's business. Oh, and they also corrected me when I mentioned a difference between operations consulting and implementation, which I don't think was accurate. I was really keen on the internship, but it felt like they were looking for something else, not just a motivated person.

4 stage interview process: Online psychometric testing (maths and verbal reasoning). Then a Telephone Interview with an Analyst (30-45 mins): really relaxed chat with a current Analyst about your background, experience and motivation to join Plural. They also ask a quick 10 min market sizing question at the end. Then an Interview on site (2-3 hours): This involves another numerical reasoning test (30 mins), then a written case study (45 mins), and finally 2 interviews with a Manager and a Senior Associate. The Senior Associate will ask some competency based questions, and probe into why you want to do strategy consulting and join Plural. This stage finishes off with a quick verbal case study. The Manager will review the output of your written case study and question the logic and structure behind your answers, as well as asking some competency questions. The Final Interview with the CEO (1 hour) is pretty similar to the previous stage. They'll question you again on the written case study, ask about commercial awareness, and finish with a verbal case study. It was a very relaxed and good vibe throughout the process.
