Customer Service Representative
Had a quick chat with the store manager about the CSR job. It wasn't in an office, but right there in the lobby of the check cashing place. The questions were simple, a really easy interview. It was okay.
- Tell me about your experience and your availability for shifts, and if you have other commitments.

So I was hired, then unhired, then hired again, then unhired. I was running around stressed because I desperately needed a full-time job to support my daughter. I was so excited to start the first time, hired on the spot, and bought the required attire immediately! All information regarding my position, and then my un-position, I had to call them for. The same day I was interviewed, I went for my drug test. I got lost searching for the testing location as I wasn't familiar with the area. I was supposed to receive an email I could only open on a desktop, so I went to three libraries before going home to open it, then proceeded to my drug test. I completed the test the same day. The next day, I was told I couldn't move forward because I didn't pass the test, which I wasn't paying close attention to because questionnaires give me anxiety. I called customer service to see if I could retake the test, and they said they'd get back to me but sent it in as a complaint instead. I called the location back, and they said they'd see what they could do about me retaking the test. I was told I would get another chance, and when I retook the test, I scored 80%. The next day, I was instructed to do fingerprints. I arrived at the worksite, only to be told I'd be doing fingerprints at a different location with very limited funds for transportation and in bad weather. I got to the fingerprint place downtown Brooklyn, but they told me I couldn't do it without an appointment. I called the store back, and they told me to return. The supervisor apologized for the managers' mistake and said fingerprints would be the next day. On my way home, the supervisor called saying she set my appointment for the current day, so I had to return to the store to get the appointment paper and then go back to the fingerprint place. After getting my fingerprints done, I returned to the store and gave them the receipt, and was told I should start working the following Monday. I called yesterday and was told I couldn't start because I had filed a complaint, even though I was calling to see if I could move forward without a long wait. I'm complaining now because, despite remaining calm and professional through the disorganization, I'm still jobless and stressed about supporting my daughter.
- It was the easiest process in the world, just show interest, ask questions, and do research on the company, and you’re hired! Good luck and many blessings sent to anyone applying!

I got an email for an interview with the store manager. She asked about my preferred store and availability. She also asked how I would act in different scenarios. I had to fill out a paper application even though I already applied online, which felt like a waste of time. The manager was nice, but seemed distracted and gave me the impression I wasn't really going to move forward, although she did forward my paperwork to the district manager and recommended me for a second interview.
