The interview process started with a phone call from HR, followed by a Zoom meeting with the team lead, and then a homework assignment. I completed the homework and was informed that the initial offer was for a 3-month contract, which I accepted. I was told I would hear back from HR for final arrangements, but after a period of no communication, I was notified that the position had been canceled and the hiring process halted, with no explanation provided despite my inquiries. It was quite an off-putting experience.
- Can you explain the business impact of X on Y?

So the interview started with them giving me a rundown of the company, what they do, and what this job is all about. Then it was my turn to talk about myself, what I'm looking for, and ask some questions. After that, we moved to the second part where they gave me some hypothetical problems and looked at how I approached them.
- Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your academic background?
- Could you elaborate on the courses you enjoyed during your degree and your experiences within them?
Monetization Manager
I was given a take-home assignment focused on analyzing different player types and proposing monetization strategies. The interview itself largely centered on my submitted solution, with a few additional questions sprinkled in. It felt quite conversational, not overly intense, and the main goal was to see how I approached problem-solving.
- Can you analyze this in-game event and tell us what aspects were successful and which ones fell short?
- What modifications or enhancements would you recommend for the in-game event?

The interview process had 5 main stages: first, a phone screening, then a technical assignment that included business questions and a personality test. After that, I interviewed with the team lead. This was followed by an unpaid tryout day in the office. Finally, there was a closing interview with HR. I wasn't told about the next steps until I reached that particular stage, which felt a bit like a trap. The team lead was late for our Zoom interview and spent the first 5 minutes finding a place to sit while holding his laptop, and at times his crotch was visible because he was wearing shorts. I found this quite disrespectful. Many questions were focused on getting personal information, like asking about my activities outside of work and my age when I finished college.
- A few SQL questions were asked, covering relatively simple queries, along with a couple of Python questions. During the interview with the team lead, I was expected to construct an SQL query in real-time. The interview was on Zoom, and the interviewer took notes as I dictated the query.
- What do you do in your free time?
- What was your age when you graduated from college?
