First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Platinum Fundraising.
Fundraising Specialist
The interview process started with a recruiter call. Then, I came into the office for a tour. After that, I did a typing test and shadowed a current representative. Finally, I interviewed with the HR manager. It was a different kind of interview, but one I really liked.
- Can you see yourself fitting into this work environment?
Sales Representative
The interview process started with an initial phone call, followed by an in-office stage involving a typing test and a meeting with the CEO. The CEO made me feel very comfortable. After that, I was given a long script to memorize, which was fine. The third interview was with the CEO's boyfriend, who asked a single question. A strict rule was that being even a second late to any of the three interviews would result in immediate disqualification. I adhered to all rules and have a Bachelor's degree. Although my interviews were deemed successful, they ultimately chose other candidates. I received a standard rejection email and felt my time was significantly wasted.
- What books have you read lately?
Fundraising Specialist
I applied online and got a quick email response to set up a phone interview. The phone interview had basic questions. After that, I had to do a few tasks: a 30-second typing test with interesting words, a personality test that asked questions in different ways to check honesty, and a math and grammar skills test that reminded me of the SAT. Then, I had an in-person interview where it was stressed not to be late. While waiting, I could hear other phone and in-person interviews happening. My interview went fine, and the next step was to leave a voicemail with their sales pitch. If that was good enough, I'd have another in-person interview. That's where it ended for me. The process felt really long, especially since I didn't get the job. It seems like they're looking for someone experienced.
- How do you deliver their specific fundraising sales pitch via voicemail?
Customer Service Representative
It was a really long process. First, there was a phone interview. Then, I went in for an in-person interview with two people, did a computer test, and got a tour. The third time I came in, I job shadowed someone on the phone for an hour. After that, I watched them discuss their past goals and give each other compliments for another hour. Then, I met with the owner for about 30 minutes. In between these steps, I had to call and record myself reading a script and send it to them. I also completed the background check, but two weeks later, they had already hired someone else, likely because of a traffic misdemeanor from over 6 years ago. It's also important to note that you must arrive ten minutes early and wait in the reception area, or they won't interview you. It felt like a huge waste of my time.
- What drives you?
