Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Plante Moran.
Consulting Manager
The recruiters aren't very experienced and are disorganized. They take a long time to get back to you between interview rounds. Then there are gaps in communication, which is a waste of your time. They must not realize the lack of empathy this process implies.
- Can you share your experience with getting new business prospects?
Consulting Intern
I had a phone screen with the recruiter, then went into two back-to-back 30-minute behavioral interviews with team members. They left a good amount of time for me to ask questions.
- Can you share an example of a time when ____?
Management Consultant
I had a first round interview on campus. There was a pre-interview mixer which was a good opportunity to meet the interviewer. The first round was mainly behavior questions, I got about 6-7 of them. The interviewer was a manager and very nice. The next week, HR called and arranged a second round. The second round was in their office and the managing partner gave a welcome speech. I interviewed with two managers and a partner. The interviews were mostly conversational. I interviewed in the Chicago office, which was a nice office (better than some of the big 4). I got a call from the partner the following Friday extending an offer.
