Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Plante Moran.
Consultant
The interview was pretty relaxed and not too difficult. The interviewers were dressed casually in jeans, making me feel a bit over-dressed. They created a comfortable atmosphere. It felt like they had already decided who they wanted to hire.
- What is your motivation for seeking this position?
Consultant
The interview process was positive overall. The HR interview was on a Monday, and the final round was that Friday. The final round felt very positive, with everyone suggesting I'd hear back soon and that I was a great fit. However, three weeks later, my Workday account showed I wasn't selected. I had emailed my recruiter after two weeks for an update but got no response.
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in consulting?
- What specifically draws you to our firm?
Consultant
I applied online and then got an email from the recruiter to set up a screening call. That call was mostly behavioral questions and questions about my experience and why I’m interested in the job. 2 days after that I had an interview with 2 senior level principal’s on the hiring team, again behavioral / experience questions but more specific to the role. Then I had a panel interview with 4 people where I did a 10 minute presentation about a project I worked on that I was proud of, followed by a q&a. And then I had a final interview with the managing partner for the practice.
