& Process

Got contacted a few days after applying. The process included a recruiter screen, chat with hiring manager, a take-home tech assessment, and then four 1-on-1 panel interviews with team members. It all happened over a couple weeks. All interviews were a mix of culture fit and technical questions. I had lots of questions during the interviews and they encouraged me to lead the discussions. Some interviewers were engaged and enthusiastic, while others seemed distracted. There's a lot of great work going on at Planet, and if there is another suitable opportunity in the future, I would apply again.

Had a technical phone screen then a take home challenge. After that, there were 4 rounds of onsite interviews. Ultimately, I was rejected because I supposedly lacked qualifications that were specified as required, even though they weren't in the original job posting and the recruiters had my resume. It felt like a fake process with 6+ rounds over several weeks, which was really frustrating, time-consuming, and a negative experience.

The entire interview process spanned about four weeks. It started with an initial phone screen. The second round involved a discussion with a Product Manager. Following that, there were three more rounds (third, fourth, and fifth) which were technical interviews with engineers from the team. All interviews were conducted virtually via Zoom.
