Behavioral Case Presentation

Overall a pretty good interview experience. The recruiter was helpful and upfront about the job and the interview process. The interviewers were punctual and friendly. Two small issues: 1. The interviews were only 30 minutes, so there wasn't much time to ask my own questions or learn more about the role. 2. The case study was a lot of work and was just marked as pass/fail with no feedback or discussion, which felt like free work rather than a real part of the process.

Behavioral Technical

I interviewed with a recruiter, the hiring manager, and someone who's a peer of the hiring manager/AM Lead. While the structure was appreciated, some parts felt off. The interview with the peer felt unenthusiastic and disengaged, which impacted the vibe and my perception of the company culture, unlike the recruiter and hiring manager. Some questions from the peer seemed irrelevant to how things are actually done here. Like, I was asked about discounting a client, but then they admitted the company doesn't do discounts. A better question would've been about handling discount negotiations, to see how I think under pressure. I answered the question as asked. When I asked her what she liked about her job or why she joined, she said it was 'just another job' and nothing special about Plaid. That kind of response isn't inspiring and doesn't build confidence in the company's culture, especially when I'm excited about Plaid's unique stuff and inclusivity. This could be improved to make the candidate experience better and show off the company's values more positively.
