Customer Success Manager
I spoke with the recruiter, the hiring manager, and the VP. There wasn't a panel interview with peers, but I could have talked to someone in a similar role if I wanted to ask questions. The final interview was supposed to be a presentation with a pretty in-depth prompt using the platform. I made it to the final interview, but they decided to hold off on hiring, so my presentation got cancelled.
- What makes you interested in this role?
- Could you explain Placer's function or the reasons someone would use it?
Customer Success Manager
So, I was interviewing for a Strategic Customer Success Manager role and found out through unofficial sources that they were laying off people in the department I was applying to. The HR person wasn't totally silent, but they were super unprofessional, giving me one-sentence answers and no updates about the layoffs. The interview process itself was long: a recruiter call, then interviews with the Director, Manager, VP, and SVP of CS. I really thought I was going to get an offer after talking to the senior leaders and feeling like we clicked. But instead, I found out indirectly that they were cutting jobs even though they still had CS openings advertised. The whole lack of honesty and communication made it obvious this wasn't the place for me. Dodged a bullet there.
- Why are you looking for a new job, and what are your current duties and responsibilities?
- Imagine you're the CSM for Lincoln Park in Chicago, and Taylor Swift cancels a concert, leading to ticket refunds. Lincoln Park then tells you that Chance the Rapper is replacing her. How would you figure out which ticket holders to inform about this switch, and what tools and factors would you consider?
- How would you decide which ticket holders to notify about the concert change, using what tools and considerations?
Customer Success Manager
The process had a lot of steps, but the talent team was super organized. It gave me lots of chances to show my fit and also see if the company was a good fit for me. The steps included: a phone screen with the TA team, an interview with the Hiring Manager, then the VP of CS, followed by the CRO interview. There was also a Case Study interview, which was a cool way to get a feel for the actual work involved in the role and if I'd like it.
- Can you share why you're interested in Placer and how you learned about us?
- Could you describe a project you particularly enjoyed working on?
- From your perspective, what is Placer's product?
