General Manager
The first part of the interview is meeting the hiring manager and doing introductions. This normally involves a handshake and introducing yourself to the hiring manager. When you shake hands, be firm, make eye contact, and smile to show you are professional and excited about the job. Use a friendly and professional greeting like "it's a pleasure to meet you," when you introduce yourself. If you are in a panel interview, greet everyone on the interview team with a handshake and get their names so you can...
- Can you tell me about your management skills?
- What are your thoughts on managing daily operations?
General Manager
The interview process was a waste of time. The district manager was 25 minutes late and took cell phone calls during the interview. He even got up to seat customers three times because the restaurant staff was in the back and not manning the store. I spent an hour with him, and he promised to send me an email for the background check and personality profile to be done online, but he never did. I called and left two voice messages, but he never called back or sent the link. If he treats interviewees like this, I wonder how he treats employees.
- What are your career goals for the next two years?
General Manager
They asked how well you work in teams and why you want to work at Pizza Hut. They also asked about the pay you expect from the RGM position. They gave you a rundown of the responsibilities and expectations for the job. They asked what you consider good customer service and how you determine if, as an RGM, you are providing good customer service.
- Suppose you're a manager, it's busy, you're short-staffed, and your supervisor walks in. How would you handle this difficult situation?
- What steps would you take to turn a underperforming unit into a profitable one?
