Had a screening call with a recruiter. They asked about my background and career goals, and then told me more about the position and the placement company's hiring process. The recruiter then ghosted me after hounding me all day and requesting I respond promptly to their emails, with no follow-ups.

I got a weird text from the recruiter to schedule a phone interview for the same day. The recruiter then tried to steer me into a different job than what I applied for, but it was okay since the pay and commute were the same and I knew the responsibilities. The first call seemed fine, and we planned to talk again the next day. I asked for the job info and a reference sheet (only 3 people needed), which I sent back that night. The next day, I waited for 30 minutes past the scheduled time, thinking maybe they were busy. I emailed to check if we were still on. It's been 2 days with no reply. Totally ghosted.

The interview process was quite thorough, but ultimately rewarding. Recognizing the competitive nature of the staffing industry, the Piper team ensured I understood the role's demands. They offered me the chance to visit their office and shadow their recruiters, providing a firsthand look at their operations. Additionally, the team invited me to lunch, giving us a chance to connect on a more personal level. I had the opportunity to meet with all the management team members before a final decision was made.

The interview process was pretty standard. It started with an email to set up a phone interview. After they reviewed my resume more, they asked me to come in for a half day. When I got to the office, I got to see a bit of what a typical morning routine looks like and then I met with two different sets of hiring managers. The questions were pretty standard, and the conversations were informative. I really appreciated that they took the time to make sure I knew what I was getting into.
