I had a quick phone chat with someone from their Chicago corporate office, and it went well. They then scheduled me for an in-person interview at their Overland Park office on a Friday. I met with my potential direct manager and then the GM. Both meetings felt good. The GM mentioned they were traveling but would update me on the process by the next Wednesday or Thursday. When they didn't reach out, I followed up the Tuesday after. The first person I met with replied somewhat rudely, saying it would take 'several weeks,' which wasn't what we originally discussed, and it was frustrating. The next afternoon, someone from corporate events called, wanting to meet as she'd be in town. We met the following Tuesday, almost three weeks later. She directly questioned if my experience was sufficient for the role. I provided strong responses regarding my qualifications, and she said they'd follow up. I never heard back after that. It's been months now. I understand not getting the job, but I lose respect for companies that don't give a definitive answer. It took time off work twice for these interviews, and a simple email or call would have sufficed. Glad I don't work for them.

They were very thorough in their approach to the interview process. The goal was to really get a good understanding of me as a person and also as a chef. The whole experience was very direct and genuinely interesting. The management team is actively involved and is always keen on offering support and finding ways to assist.
