After I applied, the interim IS Director got in touch and set up an interview with him and the new IS Director. They asked a mix of scenario-based questions and standard strengths/weaknesses questions. I was then called back two days later for another interview with the interim IS Director and two future colleagues. This second interview focused more on technical skills, like my experience with hardware, software, and AD, but also included some specific questions about the organization's values, such as working with hospital patients, potential dangers, and how I'd integrate religious ministry into my job.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you explain how you would incorporate the ministry of Jesus Christ into your work responsibilities?
  • Could you tell me about the most challenging aspect of your previous role?
  • What aspects of your former employer or supervisor did you find least appealing?

It was very relaxed, and open interview with questions regarding my passion for the field and about my personality. Questions about my flexibility and ability to work under pressure as the only RN per shift with a nurse to patient ratio of approx 1:6 however this is ambulatory detox - the patients are not critically ill or bedridden. They are in a voluntary setting and WANT to get treatment. They want help so the environment is positive.

  • How do you handle stress?
  • What drives your passion for this field?
  • Can you describe your personality?

I applied online and right away, a recruiter called me to set up an interview for about a week later. I then interviewed with two hiring managers for around 15 minutes. The questions were all about the actual work employees do, not those generic "tell me about a time" ones. All questions were super relevant to the job itself. The most critical one was about how I'd deal with a potentially dangerous situation with a patient who was agitated. I actually got that exact question from every behavioral health place I interviewed with.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • What would you do if a patient got agitated and threatened you?
