Behavioral Presentation

The interview process has 3 standard rounds, but the second round is a virtual on-site with 3 interviews back-to-back. I was pretty upset by the lack of respect and professionalism during this part. I showed up for the third interview, part of the same stage, on a Friday but wasn't told it was canceled. They said twice I'd be contacted Monday to reschedule. Instead of reaching out over 4 days, despite my efforts, they just ghosted me. Then I heard back and it seems they decided to discuss candidates without all of my info, instead of waiting to reschedule. It doesn't bother me that I didn't move forward, I hear no for a living and that's life. But the complete disregard for the 6-8 hours I spent prepping, the lack of communication even with LinkedIn activity, and refusing to give any feedback to help me grow is just unprofessional. I record all my interviews for review and improvement, and nothing justified this treatment.

So the recruiter reached out, and then it took like 20+ days to get through the recruiter screening and set up a call with the hiring manager. I actually canceled the hiring manager meeting though, because I got another offer during that time. But honestly, even if I hadn't gotten another offer, I would've passed on moving forward anyway because the recruiting team was so bad with communication, not timely, and unprofessional. I'm guessing they might have been understaffed? It went like this: recruiter asked to schedule a screening, we scheduled it, then the recruiter missed it. So we rescheduled for the next week, and then the recruiter was 8 minutes late to that call. They mentioned wanting me to meet with the hiring manager, but then there was radio silence from the recruiter for 3 business days. I had to follow up to get the meeting scheduled, and it finally got set up. All in all, it dragged on for over 20 days.

Recruiter didn't call at the scheduled time, had to email him after 30 minutes. He called back saying it wasn't on his calendar, which I forgave. We spoke for over 45 mins, then he said the hiring manager would call. The hiring manager call also went well, lasting over 45 minutes. After that, I was asked to do a coding test. I followed up for a status update after submitting the test, and the recruiter said he'd check with the Engineering team. It's been 2.5 months now, and I haven't heard anything, not even a courtesy email about the outcome.

Technical Behavioral

It took me over 3 months to get through the hiring process. I first encountered the company at a university career fair. A recruiter reached out about a week later. Then I had to take an aptitude test covering basic networking, Linux, and MySQL. Following that, there was a 30-minute phone screen where they asked more about Linux, MySQL, and TCP/IP. The final stage involved two 45-minute technical interviews and one behavioral interview.
