Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pilot Flying J.
Sales Associate
I had an in-person interview at the business place in the afternoon. It was really fast and the questions were super easy to get and not judgmental at all. It's more like an 'answer as you see it' kind of thing, no wrong or silly questions or answers.
- For the background check, can I get your social security number?
Sales Associate
The manager, Scott, was really nice and understanding about my situation. I would have definitely taken the job if it were closer to home, but unfortunately, I'm a bit too far away to commute to Pilot. I politely declined the offer.
- What skills can you bring to our team?
Sales Associate
Had a first interview that went pretty good. Then they called me back two days later for a second interview. Weirdly, during the second interview, the person interviewing me said they didn't realize they were supposed to interview me, and it only took like less than 5 minutes. They just said 'seems like a good idea'. A few days after that, I got another call saying the job was already filled. But then, the very next day, they called again asking me to come in for an interview! It's confusing because they already said the position was filled.
