First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PicnicAI.
Software Engineer
The interview process felt well-thought-out, no surprises. It went like this: Recruiter HM Screen Tech screen on coderpad System design Code Integration working on a real project Panel presentation Product 1on1. I felt the problems and questions were fair and led to good back-and-forth discussions.
- Had good discussions around the usual topics.

Recruiter was super helpful and nice the whole time! Applied late August and finished up mid-October, so it took a while but they were really clear and gave good opportunities to learn about the team and company. The interviews were pretty simple and focused more on problem-solving and explaining your work. The technical interviews were basically about a game concept, the behavior questions were to check if you'd fit the culture and understand your past work, and there was a presentation where you showed some of your previous work to the team. Overall, the people were awesome and the work sounded like it made a difference!
- How would you implement different components of a game from scratch?
- How would you implement and debug an API within existing code?
- What are your thoughts on relational data?
Software Engineer
So the process was: first a phone call with HR, then a phone call with the CTO. After that, there was a take-home exercise, and then an onsite interview. The company and people were super nice, really worked with my schedule, gave me a good idea of what to expect in the interviews, and were always clear and quick with communication. The take-home and onsite interviews are pretty fair and let you show off your skills how you think is best. They also do a good chunk of pair programming, which gives you a feel for what it's like to work with them daily. PicnicHealth seems to have a lot of genuinely nice people who care about their mission in healthcare. And they all seem to get along, which is a nice bonus.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
