Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Phreesia.
Senior Software Engineer
The interview process seemed pretty organized, with several rounds to check both technical skills and if I’d fit in. The people I talked to were professional and nice. But, after the interviews, it was radio silence. I went through two rounds, including coding, a technical live coding round, a behavioral one, and a techno-managerial interview, and then nothing for two weeks. It’s not cool to just ghost candidates like that, especially after they put in time and effort. The company needs to get better at communicating after the interviews so it’s not such a disappointing and weird experience.
- Tell me about a situation you encountered.
- Can you describe a scenario you faced?
Software Engineer
It was a few interviews, some were technical like coding, design, QA, and architect interviews, and others were more about soft-skills. Everyone I interviewed with was from the team here, except for the first HR screen. For example, a software engineer who came from the new grad program did the coding interview. Overall, it felt fair and gave me a good sense of the company. I thought it was a good experience.
- Can you describe Phreesia's products?
- How would you approach coding this problem?
- What's your approach to designing this application?
Software Engineer
So I had a few technical interviews, like three of them, then a chat with the manager, and then HR stuff. The first two tech interviews were all about .NET and JavaScript frameworks, and they were pretty chill, like they'd give you hints if you got stuck. The last tech interview, the one with the US team, was different – they wanted to see how you think outside the box and really dig into how you'd build things and solve problems in the real world. Then, when I talked to the managers and directors, you could tell they had a clear plan for their projects. They seemed really keen on how I approach problems, my thinking process, and if I'd vibe with the team. It was a cool and deep interview process overall.
- What drives your passion for coding?
