Client Service Associate
I got reached out to on LinkedIn by a recruiter, then we had an informational call. After that, I did a video interview where I had to give a 5-minute presentation on whatever I wanted and answer some basic questions. Then, they flew me to Raleigh for the in-person part. This involved three 30-minute interviews: one with a Client Services Associate, then a Client Services Consultant, and then a Director of Client Services. Finally, I had to do a case study that I presented to the VP of Client Services over video. The whole thing was pretty straightforward and went smoothly.

- Why do you want this job?

Client Service Associate
It was a long interview process. The initial phone and video interviews were easy. For the video interview, I had to prepare a 5-minute presentation on a topic I chose. After that, I didn't hear back for over a week, so I had to follow up. Finally, I got scheduled for a final interview that lasted 3 hours and involved meeting with 4 different people individually. The case study was challenging for me because I had never done anything like it before. They mentioned that this was the reason I wasn't hired, even though they said everything else was fine. They emphasized the case study the most. I felt I could have handled the case study issues after completing their 30, 60, 90-day training for new hires. Despite the challenging case study, I enjoyed interacting with everyone and felt it was a positive work environment. My main feedback would be to remove one of the interview steps or shorten the final interview, as some questions in the in-person interview felt repetitive. Also, one interviewer was 30 minutes late, leaving me waiting alone in an empty room.

Client Services Manager
I had a phone screening with HR, and they mentioned they'd set up a call with a Hiring Manager. After that, I never heard back. I got the feeling the recruiter was a bit sensitive and got easily annoyed when I asked standard questions about the connection between sales and customer success, and about the key performance indicators for this role. Customer success can vary a lot between companies, depending on whether it's tied to upsell targets or just managing a high volume of sales activities. The biggest warning sign for me was how condescendingly the recruiter explained the job expectations; it was obvious they didn't grasp the experience on my resume that was directly applicable to this position.
