First, I had a chat with the recruiter. Then, there was a 30 min video call with the hiring manager. After that, another 30 min video call with a different manager. Finally, I had an in-person deep dive session for 1 and 1/2 hours on the topic.

the interview process felt super disorganized and they barely communicated with me at all through the different steps. but the worst part was that i made it all the way to stage 4, which they called the "Hustle Test". it was supposedly a "10 hour paid consulting project designed to solve a real problem and interact with the team at length". so i spent a few days putting together a PowerPoint proposal with ideas for harvesting Nd using chloride molten salt electrolysis. after i sent it in, they ghosted me. no payment, nothing. i feel totally scammed.

First, I got a case study that I worked on for two days. I was allowed to ask clarification questions, but they said they couldn't provide any answers. Then, they sent an email detailing their process: 1.) a 15-min interview. 2.) a 30-min interview. 3.) a 90-min interview with deep dive questions (ideally onsite). 4.) reference screen and background check. The first 15-min interview was with someone who didn't turn her camera on. She asked about 4 or 5 questions and ended the call early, leaving no time for my questions. They then invited me to the next round. I had a great experience with a junior engineer this time, but unfortunately, they rejected me after this round.
