I had a couple of initial chats with the recruiter and a lead. Then, they sent over a take-home coding assignment with a flexible deadline, which was nice because it felt more practical than whiteboard coding. After I submitted my code and it passed the tests, I was invited for an on-site. The on-site included a tour of the place and the product. Then I had interviews with four engineers and the recruiter. These chats focused on past experiences and how I might deal with situations at Philo. One of the engineers reviewed my homework code with me. We also had a lunch break with some staff, which was a good way to get a feel for the company culture. Everyone seemed really friendly. A few days after the on-site, I had a video call with the CTO. We talked about general things like priorities, goals, and expectations, and there was a brief live coding part. The CTO was really patient and open. I got the offer a few days after that.

I saw the job posting and it sounded like a great fit, so I reached out to the recruiter. We talked, and then they sent me a take-home assignment to do on my own time. I mentioned I might need a couple days because I was planning a trip, and they were cool with it. But, I got really into the assignment and finished it that same night. They liked what I did and set up an on-site interview for the following week. Since I lived in another state, they covered my flights and put me in a nice hotel close to the office. The company feels pretty relaxed but also driven; it was definitely stressful interviewing, but also cool to hear about how the company is growing and what they want to achieve. After meeting some people and seeing the place, I was hoping to get an offer.
