First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Phillips Auctioneers.
Research Intern
Started with a quick 10-minute phone screening with HR. About a week later, had a Zoom chat with the cataloguer and department manager. It was a pretty chill conversation, mostly just going over my resume.
- Could you tell me about your CV?
Intern
The hiring process was brief and involved a panel interview, which felt more like a resume discussion than a tough interrogation. Prior to that, I had an initial HR screening. All the interviewers were very friendly. It took them about a month to respond after the interview.
- Can you share an experience of working in a team?
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard and moved fast, which was great. It started with a recruiter chat, then a live coding session with two engineers. After that, there was a round with two engineers for behavioral and technical questions, and finally, a chat with the CTO. I actually liked most of it because the questions felt practical, and everyone I met was super friendly. The only bummer was the last part with the CTO, who apparently likes giving brain teasers for 20 minutes instead of looking at resumes. It felt like a power play, honestly.
- Did you have any questions about JavaScript?
- What about questions related to CSS?
- Were there any questions concerning React?
Administrator
I applied through LinkedIn and got an interview scheduled pretty quickly. It was mainly HR questions. The interviewer was pleasant and friendly, and they talked about the usual career path for an Administrator. It felt like the job didn't require super high qualifications. I ended up withdrawing my application because it wasn't really what I was looking for.
- What makes you want to pursue a role as an Administrator?
