Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Phillips 66.
Financial Analyst
Submitted my CV as normal, then did some online tests, covering pattern recognition and numerical/verbal reasoning. This was followed by an interview involving a case study - practicing this would be helpful. Overall, a fairly standard process.
- Could you explain what an accrual is?
Finance Associate
They invited us for an in-person visit at their campus which was super helpful for the interviews. The interview itself was quite tough and competitive, with only 2 interns getting selected from over 20 students.
- Tell me about yourself and your experiences.
Commercial Analyst
I applied through my university and they had a dinner the night before the interview where we could meet the recruiters. The whole interview was behavioral. Just be ready for questions about teamwork, your favorite class, and how you've shown initiative.
- Can you tell me about a time you took a risk?
